Build Your Overseas Business with These 2020 Seafood Marketing Activities

Jan 15, 2020

The new year has arrived and Food Export–Northeast has a number of programs, in-market promotional activities, events, and tradeshow opportunities to help seafood companies grow connections to international buyers. As you plan for the year ahead, consider these five opportunities.

1. Meet with buyers at the 2020 Seafood Expo North America in Boston.

The 40th annual Seafood Expo North America tradeshow is just around the corner, scheduled to take place March 15-17, 2020, in Boston. On March 14th, the day before the show officially starts, Food Export–Northeast will conduct its annual Seafood Buyers Mission. This year, based on nominations from our network of in-market representatives, we are sponsoring more than two dozen buyers from 15 countries. This will be the largest delegation of international buyers we’ve ever hosted providing more opportunities for northeast seafood producers to obtain one-on-one meetings with seafood buyers. Participants in this activity last year reported $11 million in export sales and the establishment of 82 new distributor relationships. It’s not too late to register – the final deadline is February 7, 2020. Register here.

2. Exhibit at International Seafood Tradeshows.

Food Export–Northeast coordinates and provides cost-share funding assistance for the region’s seafood industry to exhibit at major seafood tradeshows.
