Introducing New Resources for the Northeast U.S. Seafood Industry

Dec 13, 2019

At Food Export–Northeast, we want to make it simple to expand your export customer base by being a one-stop-resource for education, market exploration, financial support, product positioning, and exhibition connections. To help businesses capitalize on the opportunity to grow internationally, we wanted to share some of our newest resources.

Helping you Sell

Alibaba Partnership – Seafood suppliers can now take advantage of our new partnership with Alibaba, one of the leading online wholesale trade websites that spans international borders. This partnership allows members to set up virtual stores on the platform in order to reach a global audience of buyers instantly. To make it easy for Northeast U.S. seafood suppliers, Food Export–Northeast covers the cost of the supplier’s store set up fee. By using the Food Export Branded Program, suppliers can also benefit from 50 percent off of Alibaba’s annual global store fee.  More information can be found on this page.  Don’t miss the short webinar on the program available on the bottom of that page!

Promotion Collateral for American Lobster

  • American Lobster Products Guide Brochure: We have developed a new print brochure to help in-market representatives, suppliers, and shoreside dealers educate buyers about the quality, value, and versatility of American lobster. From the history of lobstering, to sustainable harvesting practices, taste, forms, shell types, and supply consistency, this resource covers everything potential overseas buyers need to know. If you’re interested in receiving copies for your business, please reach out to us.

Lobster Guide

  • How to Handle American Lobster Video Series: To further support the lobster industry, we have created two short videos to educate international lobster buyers on proper handling of live lobster. The videos showcase the steps Northeast U.S. American lobster suppliers take to ensure their high-quality products arrive safely overseas and what importers need to do to keep the product at its peak once it arrives for their end customers. These videos are valuable to play on loop while at an international trade show or to share with new or existing buyers.
