Food Export will be hosting two webinars covering NAFTA Documentation. Register for the Wednesday, July 19th "How to Complete the NAFTA Certificate of Origin" webinar

Our North American Free Trade Agreement, NAFTA, partners in Canada and Mexico imported over $60 billion or 28% of the U.S. food and agricultural total exports in 2016. Given increased competition from other countries’ suppliers and a possible renegotiation of the agreement, it is now more important than ever to make sure U.S. companies are knowledgeable about its workings. One certain way is to be able to navigate the Rules of Origin for the NAFTA which ensure your products qualify for preferential tariff treatment under the agreement.  This ensures a duty free customs clearance for qualifying products and gives you a competitive advantage.

Topics to be covered include:

  • Understanding the harmonized system (HS) and it's uses in NAFTA
  • How duties & taxes are structured
  • The importance of selecting the correct NAFTA preference criterion
  • Locating & understanding NAFTA Rules of Origin
  • How Understanding NAFTA Rules of Origin can help companies in other FTA markets
  • What a renegotiated NAFTA Might look like for food and agricultural exports

There will also be a Q & A Session with our featured presenter Dennis Lynch.

Important Registration Note: Individuals who register below should receive an email with the link and information you need to participate one day prior to the webinar. If you don’t receive this information and/or have any questions, please contact us at webinars@foodexport.org.
