In 2016, U.S. agricultural exports to Canada accounted for over 15.9% of total U.S. food and agricultural product exports of US$134.8 billion. Canada remains the top market for U.S. exports of consumer-oriented products. U.S. exports of these products reached a US$16.1 billion in 2016.

Retail sales in the packaged food market reached over US$40.3 billion in 2016. That ranks Canada the 11th largest foreign market in the world. That also represented a growth rate of nearly 10% or over US$3.6 billion from 2012. Forecasting growth in this category is anticipated to reach over US$46.1 billion by 2021. This is an increase of nearly US$4.4 billion, and a period growth of nearly 10.6% from 2016.

Services Include:

  • Market Briefing.  Pre-show intelligence from Food Export’s In-Market Representative (IMR), covering regulations, trends, key players and more.
  • Retail Tour.  Participants will be taken to tour a number of the leading supermarkets throughout Montreal in order to understand the dynamic retail environment.
  • Invitations.  Stand out before the show even starts - qualified buyers will receive invitations including your profile, contact info, product details and booth number.
  • Introductions.  Our IMR will personally bring the trade to your booth.
  • On-site Assistance.  Food Export’s IMR will provide support during the show and answer any questions.
  • Post-Show Lead Analysis.  The In-Market Representative will regularly sit down with participants to review and qualify leads, helping execute follow up much more efficiently and effectively.

Additional Services ($50 per selection, no cap on number of services)

  • Dedicated interpreter/assistant for your booth
  • Professional translation of up to two pages of marketing material into Canadian French
  • Store checks: Pre-event report with brand names, packages, sizes, pricing, for products similar to yours
  • Follow-up assistance: In-Market Representative will craft messages for your top prospects and monitor responses in order to facilitate your post-show follow up.
