Give Your Tradeshow Presence a Competitive Advantage
Seafood Expo Asia takes place for three days, where seafood buyers can connect with exhibitors offering a variety of live, fresh, frozen and value-added seafood products.
Hong Kong is home to over 7 million people and enjoys a growing and competitive seafood market. Substantial demand exists for all kinds of seafood, ranging from low-price finfish (e.g. croaker and carp) to expensive gourmet delicacies (e.g. abalone and lobster).
Seafood imports are large due to high levels of seafood consumption, a domestic fishing industry that supports only 22% of consumption demand, and because Hong Kong also serves as an important gateway for the distribution of some seafood products into China and the surrounding region.
Ninety-five percent of the seafood consumed in Hong Kong is imported and much of this is consumed in Hong Kong’s vast food service industry. About 30-40% of the seafood imported into Hong Kong is re-exported to China, Macau, Taiwan and elsewhere.
