Recapping Our Week at Seafood Expo North America 2022

The Food Export–Northeast team enjoyed the opportunity to once again experience Seafood Expo North America in Boston in person for the first time in three years!

The Food Export–Northeast team enjoyed the opportunity to spend time in person with Northeast U.S. seafood suppliers, some of its In-Market Representatives, and buyers from around the globe for the first time in three years at Seafood Expo North America in Boston this past month. The show provided an opportunity to educate foreign visitors on the value of Northeast US seafood and bolster export activities for supplier attendees. Food Export–Northeast hosted In-Market Representatives and vetted buyers from China, Hong Kong, Northern and Southern Europe, Taiwan, Mexico, Singapore, and the United Kingdom.

“It felt good to be back in person and we were pleased how everything turned out this year,” said Colleen Coyne, Seafood Program Coordinator for Food Export–Northeast. “We were quite busy with the pre-show Education Day event and coordinating supplier meetings throughout the week with In-Market Representatives and buyers.”

Pre-Show American Lobster and Jonah Crab Education Day Event

Prior to the show kicking off, Food Export–Northeast In-Market Representatives and select buyers attended an Education Day event  on March 12th at Boston University where they learned about American lobster and Jonah crab harvesting, processing methods, product formats, and marketing promotions in the US and Asia.
